The number of private jet movements in and out of Dubai International Airport increased by 57 per cent to 6,216 in 2005 over 3,940 in 2004 and movements in the first quarter of 2006 were 24 per cent ahead of the first quarter of 2005, according to data released by the airport's Executive Flight Services. Etihad Airways' fifth Boeing 777-300ER aircraft touched down at Abu Dhabi International Airport at midday today. Paris - Etihad Airways will increase its flights to Paris to seven per week starting from next July, according to the Airline's Chairman, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed bin Saif Al Nahyan. Emirates has added more than 500 seats a week on its services between Dubai and London Gatwick after the introduction of a new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on one of its three daily flights to England's capital. Etihad Airways will increase its services on the Abu Dhabi-Bangkok route by starting twice-daily flights from June 4. The UAE's national airline also announced that it will operate its new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the route. Emirates SkyCargo has announced that it has met a record achievement of over US$1 billion in revenue and 1 million tonnes of cargo with the announcement of this year's annual financial results for 2005-06 fiscal year. Air traffic rises 8.5 per cent

Air traffic in the UAE registered a growth of 8.5 per cent during the first four months of this year with the total number of aircraft movements during the said period rising to 138,500 compared with 127,600 for the corresponding period last year. Airlines operating in Dubai will apply a new increase in the fuel surcharge for air cargo from Monday. Abu Dhabi-based Gulf Aircraft Maintenance Company (Gamco) on Saturday announced it earned a net profit of Dh88 million for full year 2005 on the back of revenues totalling Dh1.28 billion.
