Dubai International Airport (DIA) witnessed a surge in passenger throughput in October this year, registering a growth of 18.35 per cent over the corresponding period last year. Emirates airline manages to overcome impact of high fuel costs. A fuel surcharge and 20 per cent growth in passenger numbers boosted Emirates' profit by 29 per cent to Dh1.2 billion (US$323 million) for the first six months of the current financial year.
