ETISALAT has confirmed that its latest M-NET General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) will be released across the UAE in November. GPRS, which allows information to be sent and received in packets across a mobile telephone network, will compliment the existing eWAP services. ETISALAT expects mobile subscriber coverage to reach even up to 80 per cent in the near to medium term, according to a senior official. The present level is over 50 per cent as the number of subscribers has crossed 1.7 million out of an overall population of 3 million. The Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (ETISALAT) has announced a 46 per cent cut in subscription charge on Wasel GSM service. ' As of Wednesday Wasel service fee will be reduced to Dh 185 from Dh 340,' an ETISALAT press release said today.
