ETISALAT has made a payment of Dh 500 million as the second instalment of its royalty for the year 2002, to the Federal Government. ETISALAT has consolidates the telephone numbers for several of its support services. The UAE ranked first on bandwidth utilisation, while Qatar came top on the bandwidth capacity measure, according to a study by Arab Advisors Group. ETISALAT closed 2002 with a mobile phone subscriber base of 2.42 million compared with 1.9 million at the end of 2001, said a top official. By the end of January, another 30,000 was added.
