Dubai-based budget carrier flydubai on Wednesday announced a buy one get one free offer for travellers between November 18 and December 12, 2012. The offer is valid for 21 destinations and for those making a booking before November 11. Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, yesterday announced it had purchased two more Airbus A330-200 passenger aircraft in a deal worth US$418 million at current list prices. The UAE carrier has also converted seven of its previously ordered Airbus A320s to the larger Airbus A321 model. Emirates and Etihad Airways have cancelled flights to New York as the east coast of the United States braces itself for Hurricane Sandy. Air traffic movements in the UAE jumped 6.9 per cent to almost 60,000 in August 2012 compared to the same period last year, according to the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
