Passenger traffic at Sharjah Airport has witnessed notable growth in the last six months . Statistics indicate that the Airport handled more than 2million passengers in the first half of this year compared to only 1.42 million passengers this time last year . Abu Dhabi Duty Free (ADDF) said revenues rose 33 per cent in the first half of the year, putting it on track to break the US$100 million barrier by the end of the year. Departing passenger purchases averaged US$51 per person, an increase of 10.5 percent over the year-earlier period. The company did not provide total sales figures. Dubai Duty Free's (DDF) sales in the first half of the year climbed 27 per cent to US$411 million as a rise in air travellers helped push retail sales higher at Dubai International Airport.
