In a move to offer the best international calling rates to landline customers, Etisalat has slashed the International Direct Dialling (IDD) rates to 50 fils per minute from May 10 till August 9, 2010. UAE's second telecom operator, du, is considering a rights issue or selling new shares to raise Dh1 billion, the company said Monday in a statement. etisalat yesterday announced its condensed consolidated interim financial results for the first quarter of 2010. In its filing, etisalat announced net profits of Dh1,994 million. The UAE has the highest mobile penetration rate in the Arab world, a new report by the Arab Advisors Group (AAG) confirmed yesterday. The Emirates Integrated Telecom Company (du), was the star performer among peer companies in the GCC in 2009 as its net income rose by more than 6,000 per cent, according to a report.
