New desalination unit in Sir Bu Nuayer Island has started operation, according to the Sharjah Electricity '&' Water Authority (SEWA). Rain waters retained by lakes of dams across the country over the last couples of rainy days were estimated at four million cubic metres, according to a report by Ministry of Environment and Water.
