Longlist for Sheikh Zayed Book Award for Literature announced

The Sheikh Zayed Book Award (SZBA) announced on Wednesday its long list in Literature, consisting of 12 titles out of 274 nominations received by the award since last May. The 274 nominations came from 29 countries most of which were from Egypt, Syria, Morocco, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Iraq, UAE, and Tunisia, in addition to Holland, Canada, Norway, U.K, Eritrea, Sweden, Australia and Belgium. The Sheikh Zayed Book Award, SZBA, announced yesterday its long list for the Translation category, consisting of 8 titles out of 86 nominations received. These nominations came mostly from Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, and France. The award has announced its long list in two categories so far;' Arts and Literary Criticism' and ‘Best Contribution to the Development of Nations'. To coincide with the launch of its 11th cycle for the year 2016 - 2017, the Sheikh Zayed Book Award has announced that it will accept nominations in five different languages; English, French, Italian, Spanish, and German, for the category, "Arab Culture in Other Languages". The Sheikh Zayed Book Award has announced that it is accepting nominations for its eleventh cycle of 2016/2017 starting this month until 1st October, 2016.
