The UAE Armed Forces yesterday announced deals worth Dh1.2 billion, bringing the combined value of contracts signed with local and international companies during IDEX 2007 to Dh3.3 billion. The International Defence Exhibition, IDEX 2007, has attracted a total of 37,490, according to Major General Obaid Al Kitbi, Chief of the UAE Armed Forces Logistics and IDEX 2007 Spokesman. The UAE Armed Forces have announced deals worth Dhs.1.4 billion at the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2007). The UAE Navy is now securing its military supplies from local manufacturers, according to Naval Forces Commander, Major General Ahmed Mohammed Al Tinaiji. UAE's home-grown unmanned aerial vehicles seek markets abroad

The UAE is displaying for the first time its locally built unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at IDEX. Twelve craft are being operated by the UAE Armed Forces, according to officials.
