Average daily room rates in Abu Dhabi's hotels fell 5.4 per cent to Dh368 in July 2016 compared to July 2015, while occupancy levels rose 3.7 per cent year-on-year to 61.6 per cent. Staycationers from the UAE helped to lift Ras Al Khaimah's tourism performance during Eid Al Fitr holiday. UAE has 26,989 hotel rooms under construction

The UAE's hospitality industry, which is on track to welcome several millions more visitors by 2020, has 26,989 new rooms in 93 hotels under construction, according to STR. Occupancy of four- and five-star hotels in Dubai was up 26 per cent year-on-year in July to 57.6 per cent, according to a statement from consultancy STR Global.
