Dr. Ali bin Abdullah Al Ka'abi, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, has approved the first batch of recipients of the over Dh 58.4 million- financial grant payable by the Marriage Fund. Board of directors of the Marriage Fund has approved new rules to regulate administering marriage grants to UAE nationals. The Marriage Fund has increased the salary limit of nationals seeking funds for their wedding expenses from Dh13,000 to Dh16,000, a senior official of the fund said yesterday. Marriage cases in the UAE grew by nearly seven per cent in 2001 and the nationals accounted for more than half the weddings, according to official statistics.
