Sea Dubai has stepped in as one of the sponsors for the 2009 UIM WPPA Class One Offshore World Powerboat Championship that gets under way with the opening round in Doha next month.
The sponsorship was announced yesterday by Saeed Hareb, CEO, Mina Seyahi Dubai in the presence of Marco Sala, General Secretary, International Offshore Teams Association (IOTA) and Sid Bensaleh, General Secretary, World Professional Powerboat Association (WPPA).

Porto Marina (Egypt - The Dubai Victory Team moved one step closer to their eighth Class 1 Powerboat World Championship as Nader Ben Hendi and Mohammed Al Marri led a Victory 1-2 finish at the Egyptian Grand Prix in Porto Marina. Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club (ADIMSC) will submit a comprehensive report on its capabilities for the organization and promotion of the Formula 2 powerboat championship to the World Professional Powerboating Association (WPPA), said chairman of ADIMSC H.H Doctor Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al-Nahyan. The report will be discussed by WPPA at its upcoming meeting in November 2008 in Australia.

Promoters of the Continental F2000 Championship have earmarked Fujairah as a prime location for the sport, announcing it will host a Grand Prix meeting on February 23. Constanta, Romania: Victory 77 powered their way to their third win of the season from four races to pick up the 2007 European crown at the Romanian Grand Prix on the waters of Lake Siutghiol here yesterday.
