The UAE government's fast response to the CITES suspension, has resulted in the UAE being fully reinstated into the global Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) of Fauna and Flora. The CITES Secretariat announced the development on 16 March.

The UAE's reinstatement follows a promise to introduce better laws, and several wildlife management and conservation reforms, such as a national registry for falcons.
