UAE VP receives British Prime Minister in Bahrain

MANAMA: Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has received British Prime Minister Theresa May, in Manama, Bahrain.

H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation were also present at the meeting.

The two sides discussed several issues related to the historic friendship between the UAE and the UK and ways to enhance them, especially in renewable energy, tourism and banking.

They further reviewed a number of regional and international issues related to terrorism and ways to fight it to eliminate its resources at various levels, and also discussed promoting security, stability and peace in the region and the world.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid hailed the historic ties between the two friendly people. He also stressed the importance of boosting the relations as both countries are keen to pursue mutual interests and objectives.

The UAE is the fourth strategic trade partner of the UK and about 1.5 million British tourists visit the country.
