UAE Rugby Federation will conduct their first all-day Rugby Conference this Saturday, September 12th.

The purpose of the UAE Rugby Conference is to commence the season in a positive and constructive manner, with all stakeholders having a clear understanding of the Federation aims moving into the season and how all stakeholders can work together to take rugby in the UAE to a higher level.

Conference attendees will consist of key rugby-personnel from schools and clubs including coaching staff, club medical personnel, mini and youth representatives, as well as club administrators.

After registration and an official opening, the day kicks off with practical coaching sessions facilitated by UAE Rugby's National Coaches Roelof Kotze, Apollo Perelini and former England international, Steve Thompson.

Following the morning sessions, the conference will move indoors where all the aspects of rugby in the UAE will be covered.

Coaches will conduct sessions on conditioning, referees and coaching. Club administrators will workshop around issues and procedures relating to the running of the leagues and clubs. Club medical staff will discuss medical matters and workshop best practices. The Mini and Youth representatives will focus on issues and opportunities of the next generation.

The conference will conclude with a panel Q&A.

"We trust that this conference will start the 2015/2016 season in a positive, open manner, and that the discussions and workshops will assist the Clubs and the Federation to have an even better working relationship throughout the coming season" said Qais Al Dhalai, UAE Rugby's General Secretary.

The conference will be held at Dubai English College. – Emirates News Agency, WAM -
