President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has donated 150 falcons to the International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition-Abu Dhabi 2008. The falcons were kept at the Pro-Falcon Breeding Project in Al Ain, one of the world's leading projects to preserve falcons Sheikh Khalifa's gesture aims at highlighting significance of preserving the endangered species.
Mohammed Khalaf Al Mazrouei, head of the higher organising committee of the exhibition and board member of the Emirates Falconers Club said the "UAE President has been generous with us since the inception of the exhibition in its first edition. The gesture underlines preservation of the heritage in order to pass it to another generation intact alongside protection of environment".
He applauded the efforts of Sheikh Khalifa in preservation of the land birds. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
