The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation is closely monitoring the terrorist attack on Kandahar Governor's guesthouse, which injured Juma Mohammed Abdullah Al Kaabi, the UAE Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and a number of Emirati diplomats who were accompanying him.

"The UAE Ambassador's visit to Kandahar was on humanitarian mission within the programme of the UAE to support the brotherly Afghan people, lay the foundation stone for Dar Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as well as sign an agreement with Kardan University to offer scholarships at the expense of the UAE," the Ministry said in a statement.

The Ministry added that the UAE envoy's visit also included a plan to lay the foundation stone for the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Institute for technical education in the capital city of Kabul, to be funded by Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.

"In these difficult moments, the Ministry, through the special operations room, in conjunction with the armed forces and the concerned state authorities, as well as the Afghan government, is following up the developments of this terrorist attack," the Ministry said.

It also prayed to Almighty Allah to protect Emiratis who carry out noble humanitarian missions from all evil so that they can serve the Afghan people.

The Ministry will be announcing all the developments regarding the terrorist attack. http://now.wam.ae/en/news/emirates-international/1395305727050.html
