Supreme Chairperson of the family Development Foundation and the Chairperson of the General Woman's Union HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Made yesterday an inspectional visit to the shelter home for the victims of human trafficking in Abu Dhabi.
Sheikha Fatima hailed the level of facilities set up at the shelter home for woman and children who had been victims of the transnational crime of human trafficking. She ordered more coordination among Foreign, Interior and Justice ministries as well as the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking (NCCHT) to combat this evil.
Sheikha Fatima noted that UAE is among the first countries to perceive the magnitude of this migratory crime and take measures to combat it through proper legislation and other stringent measures.
Sheikha Fatima was received at the centre by Adviser to HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for Humanitarian Affairs and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Shelter Homes Sana' Darwish Al Katbi.
Sana' lauded Sheikha Fatima's continuous support to the cause and made special mention of her donation of a plot of land to set up the shelter home in Abu Dhabi. . – Emirates News Agency, WAM
