In a move that will significantly boost worldwide family values, H.H Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak has unveiled an initiative to launch a Worldwide Family Forum (WFF). WFF is envisaged as a platform for promoting family values as well as the culture of peace and peaceful co-existence among world nations on the regional and international levels.
The iniatiative stemmed from Sheikha Fatima's keenness to highlight the sanctity of the institution of family. It is also in line with her commitment to reinforce dialogue amongst world's cultures.
In line with her initiative, Sheikha Fatima has called on active family organizations worldwide to meet in Abu Dhabi and evolve a mechanism to implement the initiative. A number of world family organizations in France, Portugal, China, Malaysia, Hungary and other countries have responded positively to Sheikha Fatima's initiative.
Ali Salim Al Kaabi, Director of the Office of Minister of Presidential Affairs and Dr. Maytha Al Shamsi, Advisor to the Chairwoman of Family Development Foundation held two-day meetings with officials from family organisations. The meetings concluded with adoption of an agenda for the forum as envisioned by Sheikha Fatima.
Delegates to these meetings unanimously agreed that Sheikha Fatima should chair new the organisation as this would enable her see a dream long cherished become a reality. The Chairmanship of Sheikha Fatima of the new body, said the participants, is a fitting tribute to a woman who has contributed enormously to humanitarian and family issues around the world.
