H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has visited a number of vital development projects in the emirate, including Al Jubail Marina Market, Sharjah International Airport, bridges and roads, exhibition and conference venues, and Sharjah Mosque projects.

At the outset of his visit to Al Jubail Marina Market, he was informed that the facility was ready for fishermen. He also approved the expansion design of Al Khalidiya Bridge and inspected the pavement on Al Allam Island.

He visited the building of the Department of Civil Aviation in Sharjah, where he was briefed on the airport development projects, including the roads surrounding the area. During his visit, he was received by Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah International Airport Authority, and a number of officials.

Sheikh Sultan also approved the lighting network and street decorations that would bring to the fore the aesthetics of various landmarks. A number of landscaping projects around the airport buildings also met his approval.

The Sharjah Ruler also urged all concerned officials to increase commuting facilities for people travelling to and from the airport. Next he met the officials of the company developing the exhibition and conference plot at Al Tai district, and was briefed about the designs, sprawling over an area of four million sq. ft.

The Sharjah Ruler also approved the development of Wadi Al Hello-Kalbaa Road and the water supply lines connected to the new water desalination plant in Al Saja district to serve sanctuaries and agricultural areas in Al Dhaid city.

His visit ended at the Sharjah Mosque at Al Tai district, where he inspected the ongoing development projects. It is one of the biggest mosques in the emirate and its designs were inspired by the Islamic architectural art in general and the Ottoman style in particular.

Salah bin Butti Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Department of Planning and Survey; Ahmed bin Rakad Al Ameri, Chairman of the Sharjah International Book Fair, and Marwan Jassim Al Sarkal, Executive Director of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority, Shurooq, accompanied the Sharjah Ruler during his tour. – Emirates News Agency, WAM -
