President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Sunday chaired the meeting of the Federal Supreme Council which was held in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The meeting was attended by Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the emirates, Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi of Sharjah, Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi of Fujairah, and Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi of Ajman. Also attending were H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince '&' Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain.
The Council members discussed matters relating to the welfare of the nation and citizens. They also ratified amendments to some articles of the constitution.
Sheikh Khalifa stressed the importance of enhancing federation in a way that will fulfil aspirations of the citizens and bring about progress and prosperity. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
