Nadia Taryam crowned champion

Emirati rider Nadia Abdul Aziz Taryam emerged champion in the Abu Dhabi International Show Jumping Grand Prix.

Nadia put up a wonderful performance during which she jumped over the barriers displaying stoic tact.

She contested with grace among 32 male and female riders, after two rounds on 13 barrier with heights between 145 and 160 centimetres (3 stars).

Nadia later advanced to qualify in a tougher field with the best of 11 riders.

She outmatched her rivals to clinch the Abu Dhabi International Show Jumping Grand Prix title. She did that in a time of 79:69 seconds.

Ukrainian rider, France Hnzermain won the second place, clocking 82:65 seconds.

The French rider, Fredrik David clinched the third place in a time of 81:16 seconds.

The fourth place was won by a Syrian rider Ahmed Hamsho. Qatari Ahmed Ali Al Attiyah bagged the fifth place, followed by the Saudi rider Prince Abdullah Bin Metaib Al Saud.

Adnan Sultan Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club crowned Nadia amidst applause from a large Emirati audience.

Mohammed Al Rumaithi also won the award of the middle leg of the tournament organised by the Abu Dhabi Equestrian club on the grassy field, in collaboration with the UAE Equestrian Federation.

The prize value of the championship amounted to Dhs1,125,000 with the participation of 101 riders, representing 19 Arab, American and European countries.

The event was held under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, chairman of Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club. – The Gulf Today – Read more:
