H.H. Gen. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has issued a new resolution regulating the of financial support and rewards for sports sector in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Under the resolution, financial allocations will be set aside for sports clubs competing in the professional football league. According to the resolution, clubs winning local or international championships will be awarded financial rewards.
'Any club descends on the professional league or a similar championship to a lower rank will come under the fixed budget for football only,' the resolution stated.
'Ample financial support will be given to any club which has a plan for development of the football game through establishment of a specialised sports academy at bar with international standards and approved by Abu Dhabi Sports Council,' the resolution added.
The resolution also defined financial allocations for encouraging achievers in individual and group games mainly sportsmen who make great achievements at Arab, regional and international competitions. Any sportsman from the emirate who wins a title for the UAE will be rewarded even though he is not included in the categories of the reward schedule.
The provisions of the financial reward schedule will also be applicable to sportsmen with special needs. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
