H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, has issued a decision setting up the tourism prosecution and court in Abu Dhabi.

Deemed the first of its kind, the move is part of efforts aimed at promoting the economic competitiveness of the emirate of Abu Dhabi as a sustainable tourist destination, with a view to achieve the strategic goals of its government to become one of the five best governments in the world.

Counsellor Yousef Saeed Al Abry, Under-Secretary of the Department, stressed the importance of compliance of judicial services to the accelerating development in Abu Dhabi, and provision of judicial infrastructure that meets the growing needs of the community.

He quoted the statement of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces that the UAE would celebrate the export of last barrel of oil, as the country adopts the economic diversification policy.

He also referred to the importance of providing various sources of income to citizens without depending solely on oil, and building a sustainable economy, which requires establishing comprehensive infrastructure that matches these ambitions.

Al Abri stressed the importance of providing quality services to the tourism sector, being one of the most promising sectors for investment in the UAE, and added that the tourism court would contribute to Abu Dhabi's distinguished reputation in the sector. The court will work in close co-operation with the authorities concerned to ensure the best services as per international standards, he affirmed.

Counsellor Ali Mohammed Al Balushi, Attorney-General of Abu Dhabi, said the setting of specialised prosecution and court in Abu Dhabi reflects the keenness of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed to deliver justice for all. . – Emirates News Agency, WAM -
