Manchester City FC Chairman praises City Football Academy

In the second of three videos, released by the Manchester City Football Club, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority, EAA, and Chairman of Manchester City FC, has praised the work of the City Football Academy and expressed his belief that several academy players could make an appearance in the first team shortly.

"The priority is to have academy graduates in the first team. That to me is far more important for Manchester City than winning silverware at the academy level. Today, I look at our academy, we are doing great things across all age groups.

"We are really in a very good place in terms of the development of the academy and the quality of players. But what makes it special, this year particularly, is that we have three or four players that we genuinely believe have a very good chance of making it to the first team," Al Mubarak said.

The chairman also talks about building a sustainable future for the club both financially and within the community, with the belief that the main goal is to build a lasting legacy. He says that Manchester City owner, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, is committed to this purpose.

"This club has to have a sustainable development strategy and that's what we have built over the years and that's what we have today. We are financially very strong and continue to be profitable and we will continue to grow. We will continue to be in the fabric of this city, Manchester," he added.

The club has posted profits of 20.5 million pound for 2015-2016 with a record year in 2016 in terms of revenue, which stood at 391.8 million pound.
