Qatar's Deputy Premier '&' Minister Of Energy '&' Industry H.E. Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah yesterday inaugurated the two-day Arab forum on development and employment.
The UAE delegation to the forum is being headed by H.E. Saqr Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Labour.
Al Attiyah addressed the opening session, expressing the hope that the forum will set an example for adopting realistic and tangible approach in addressing challenges facing development and unemployment in the Arab world.
According to Qatar News Agency, the participants will discuss issues like poverty, unemployment, training and education outputs, labour markets needs and exodus of Arab intellectuals and capital.
A number of experts , the economists and labour specialists from all Arab countries , the federations of Arab chambers of commerce and industry , the labour trade unions and some Arab and international organisations and institutions as well as representatives of the Arab civil societies organisations and the Arab businesswomen societies are attending the forum.
The forum is aimed at enhancing pan-Arab cooperation in recruitment and employment, combating unemployment and improving labour terms and circumstances within the context of an integrated and sustainable development.
The forum would be recommendations would be forwarded to the Arab economic summit to open in Kuwait next January, 2009. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
