Abu Dhabi Ship Building , ADSB, has handed over a military landing vessel to the Kuwaiti Defence Ministry.

This was announced by ADSB at the official inauguration of the 64-metre Kuwaiti landing craft and high-speed protection vessel "Al Safar" at the company's yard in Musaffah Industrial Base in Abu Dhabi.

ADSB is one of the region's key providers of construction, repair and refit services for naval, military and commercial boats.

Khaled Al Mazrouei, CEO, ADSB, said, "We are proud to be supplying the vessel to the Kuwait Ministry of Defence and are grateful for the confidence that the State of Kuwait has given to us by awarding this contract. At ADSB we've proven our competency as one of the premiere shipbuilders in the region. The vessel contract which was signed in 2015 further demonstrates our commitment to growing our capabilities and supporting regional partners."

Deputy Chief of General Staff of Kuwait Army, Lieutenant General Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nawaf attended the inauguration ceremony, along with a number of Kuwaiti executives and ADSB representatives.

Sheikh Abdullah commanded the high potential of the UAE military industry, noting that ADSB has proven its value as one of the top providers of naval services in the region.

"We are proud to see qualified Gulf cadres working at such a high level of professionalism that goes at par with the world's leading companies in this field, " he added. http://wam.ae/en/details/1395302608833
