ArtParis Abu Dhabi is returning in November with a promise to reassert Abu Dhabi's position as meeting point for contemporary art in the region.
The successful ArtParis Abu Dhabi 2007 inspired this year's exhibition with an emphasis on promoting Arab artists, young talent and contemporary art.
The art fair is promising to attract 15,000 people from across the world. Last year, 10,000 people attended the event.

Dubai firm ties up with New York's opera house Posted on 14/09/2008
The Dubai Event Management Corporation has entered into a one-year partnership with New York's Metropolitan Opera, one of the most widely heard and known opera companies in the world. This will bring to Dubai some of the critically acclaimed series of live high-definition performances, transmitted into movie theatres around the world.

Aguilera to perform at Emirates Palace Posted on 08/09/2008
Christina Aguilera, the Grammy award-winning singer, is scheduled to perform for the first time in the Middle East with a one-off concert at the Emirates Palace hotel in the capital next month.
Aguilera, 27, best known for such songs as Dirrty, Candyman and Genie in a Bottle, will perform on the lawns of the luxury hotel on Oct 24. Ticket prices and allocations will be announced next week and will go on sale in the last week of September.

The British Council has launched its first International Young Visual Arts Entrepreneur (IYVAE) Award in the UAE, which aims to champion and celebrate the importance of creative entrepreneurs. The IYVAE Award will identify a UAE National or resident who is working in the visual arts sector and who is able to demonstrate business success with a social or not-for-profit enterprise in this sector. Sheikh Mayed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (DCAA), on Sunday opened an exhibition of calligraphic works drawn from Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Art Collection 1. Etihad carries 180 Picasso works Posted on 29/05/2008
Etihad Crystal Cargo, a division of Etihad Airways, carried 180 master works of Pablo Picasso from Paris to Abu Dhabi ahead of the opening of the world-renowned art exhibition in the capital yesterday, a statement from Etihad Airways said.
