UAE President orders sending rescue team to Afghanistan Posted on 08/10/2008
President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has issued instructions on dispatching a rescue team, including 56 first-aid men and experts, to Afghanistan to assist in rescue operations in the wake of earthquake, which hit Afghanistan Sunday.
The well-equipped team is headed by Lt. Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Al Nuaimi, head of the technical rescue and quick intervention section. The team left for Kabul with highly trained police sniffer dogs to help trace survivors of the calamity.

UAERCA takes relief to quake victims in Kyrgyzstan Posted on 08/10/2008
The Red Crescent Authority of UAE (UAERCA) has started relief operations in Kyrgyzstan, after a massive earthquake hit the central Asian country's southern provinces.
RCA volunteers on ground are supplying the quake victims with food, cloth, blankets and other essential relief goods.

The UAE will rush urgent relief to flood-hit population in Algeria. Generous Hands conducts delicate surgeries in Eritrea Posted on 06/10/2008
Surgeons of 'The Generous Hands Initiative", a UAE medical charity organisation, has operated on scores of poor children in Eritrea who were suffering from congenital deformities, eye diseases and injuries caused by accidents.

RCA relief plane arrives in Mauritania Posted on 30/09/2008
The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) plane, carrying 35 tonnes of humanitarian aid, arrived yesterday in Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott, to assist the needy. The aid includes rice, flour, oil, sugar and dates, as well as children food.
The RCA Board Chairman HH Dr Ali bin Abdullah Al Ka'abi, said the shipment is "in line with continuous humanitarian programme, which target the needy category in Mauritania. It coincides with Eid Al Fitr to ease burden on the needy".

A Red Crescent relief plane will leave to Mauritania within the couple of days to offer humanitarian aid to the poor population there. UAE's Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has sent a relief team to Egypt for on-ground operations to help victims of the massive landslide at Jabal Muqattam.
The Mountain, with a large emerald treasure underneath, came down on the people living in the valley, killing several people and forcing thousands to flee the area.

The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) and the United Nations Relief Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) signed an agreement yesterday to sponsor Palestinian orphaned children.
